"The answer is within the question..."
Pull up a booth. The coffee's hot, the pie is fresh, and no question is too strange.

If you plan to use insurance, please know that coverage for counseling services can vary. You may be responsible for:
A copay at each session
Meeting your deductible before coverage begins
Other out-of-pocket costs as determined by your plan.
It is always the client’s responsibility to confirm with their insurance provider that mental health benefits are covered and to understand what portion of the fee they will be responsible for.
Like walking between two worlds, insurance can open the door — but it does not always light the whole path.
-
When billing through insurance, my standard rates are:
$160 for a 50-minute session.
$350 for Domestic Violence Evaluations. (This includes evaluation, paperwork, and communication with courts and/or probation).
$250 for Standard Evaluations.
For those who step outside the insurance system and pay directly, I keep the path clear and straightforward.
$120 for a 50-minute session
$200-$300 for evaluations (depending on type).
Reduced Fee? - Please see “sliding scale” section of the FAQ page for details.

"The owls are not what they seem… and neither are our circumstances."
At Blue Rose Counseling, I honor the reality that each person carries both visible and hidden burdens. Healing should not be reserved only for those with means, and yet it must also honor the value of the work being done here.
My standard fee (cash pay) is $120 per 50-minute session. This reflects the true cost of time, training, and care. For those whose financial reality makes this difficult, a sliding scale is available.
Important Notes
Payment is always due at the time of service.
Sliding scale spaces are limited—like doors that only open when the time is right.
Proof of income is required in order to determine eligibility for a reduced fee.
Fees may be reassessed if your financial situation shifts—because circumstances, like seasons, change.
-
Sessions are typically 50 minutes. Extended sessions may be available if needed.
Initial evaluations are typically 90 minutes.
-
At this time, all sessions are offered only via telehealth. That might change in the future — but for now, therapy happens wherever you are, as long as you're located in Utah.

What to Expect at Blue Rose Counseling
“The first key to unlocking the path is understanding the map.”The First Session
Your first session will last 90 minutes.
We will spend this time gathering information: your history, current concerns, and what goals you have in mind.
Think of it as laying out all the clues on the table—so we can see the patterns together. You don’t need to rehearse or bring polished answers; just bring yourself.
Logistics
All required paperwork sent to you must be completed before our first session.
Payment is due at the time of service.
If you’re using insurance, you may have a copay or deductible—please confirm your mental health benefits in advance.
For those using the sliding scale, proof of income is required.
The Ongoing Work
After the first session, therapy sessions are typically 50 minutes.
From there, we move from gathering clues to uncovering meaning, and from meaning to growth.
As in Twin Peaks, not everything is solved at once—but each step brings the way forward into clearer focus.

About the work
-
I work exclusively with adults (18 and over) navigating trauma, healing from harm, and those in need of support with building skills to help prevent future use of violence. This includes those who have experienced violence, folks who have used violence, and those exploring deep personal change — all genders, all stories.
-
Not at all. Therapy isn’t just about surviving. It’s about growing into who you want to be. You can start wherever you are.

The name Blue Rose is a nod to the world of Twin Peaks — a symbol for mysteries that defy easy explanation, for stories that unfold beneath the surface.
In the show, a Blue Rose case is something unusual. A riddle. A disturbance in the ordinary.
To me, it represents the deep work of therapy — the kind that holds both pain and possibility. This name also honors the parts of us that don’t quite fit the mold — the contradictions, the complexity, the things that make us feel like we’re walking between two worlds. That’s where healing lives.

Feel free to reach out through the contact page. We'll talk it over - maybe not at the Double R Diner, but the coffee's just as strong.
