Privacy & Policies

The Owls are not what they seem. But your privacy? That's straightforward.

In a place where layers unfold and mysteries are gently revealed, privacy is sacred. At Blue Rose Counseling, what you bring into this space is treated with reverence — because what’s hidden isn’t always dangerous… but it is always yours.

Just like the owls in Twin Peaks, what seems ordinary may carry deeper meaning. Your story, your pain, your healing — all deserve protection, and here, they have it.

🕵️ Confidentiality

Your sessions and personal information are protected by law and by my professional ethics. What you share in therapy stays in therapy—except in situations where disclosure is legally required (such as safety concerns, abuse reporting, or court orders). We’ll talk about all of this in your informed consent paperwork, so nothing feels mysterious without purpose.

🌐Telehealth

All sessions are currently held via a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform.

-You will receive a private link before each appointment.
-Please ensure you are in a safe, quiet, and private space.
Note: I currently only serve clients located in the state of Utah.

📝Informed Consent

Before we begin, you'll receive paperwork that clearly outlines your rights, responsibilities, and the scope of therapy. Think of it as the map before we enter the woods together.

Cancellation Policy

Your time is valuable—and so is mine. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 24 hours' notice. No-shows or late cancellations will be subject to a fee for the full cost of service, unless there’s an emergency. The world is strange, but we try to keep the calendar grounded.

🗝️Client Records

Your information is confidential and protected under state and federal laws. I follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure your records, sessions, and personal data are secure.

-I will not release your information without your written consent unless required by law.
-Exceptions include: risk of harm to self or others, suspicion of child or elder abuse, or court orders.

⚖️Court-Ordered Services

For clients engaging in therapy or evaluations as part of a court requirement — such as domestic violence intervention or assessments — certain releases of information are required. As part of this process, I will coordinate with referring agencies, courts, DCFS, or probation officers as needed, and provide necessary reports or updates. These communications are limited to what is required by your court order or service agreement. You’ll always know what’s being shared and why. We’ll talk about it first. Transparency is key — even in a town where not everything is what it seems.

🔥Emergency Disclaimer

Blue Rose Counseling is not a crisis service. If you are in immediate danger or need urgent support, call 911 or the Utah Crisis Line at 988. The woods can be strange — but you don’t have to walk through them alone.

🎤Questions?

In Twin Peaks, not everything is what it seems — but here, transparency matters. If you ever have questions about how your information is handled or what your rights are, I invite you to ask. This work is a collaboration, and clarity is part of the journey.
